Anti-discrimination policy
At JEX , #WorkAsOne JEX our guiding principle. This means that everyone belongs, everyone is welcome, and everyone feels safe. Every person is unique and valuable, from young to old, regardless of where you come from or your religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Through our anti-discrimination policy, we aim to prevent discrimination and promote diversity and inclusion. At JEX no room for discrimination in any form or manner.
What is discrimination
Discrimination is any direct or indirect distinction between persons on the basis of age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, lifestyle, political or religious beliefs, race, ethnic origin, or nationality. This also includes responding to requests from clients to discriminate between individuals in the recruitment and selection process on the basis of criteria that are not necessary or relevant for the proper performance of the job.
Our stance on discrimination
JEX all forms of discrimination and does not tolerate discrimination against employees. This includes temporary workers employed by our clients. We will only comply with requests from clients to take certain criteria into account during recruitment and selection if there is an objective justification for doing so. Such justification exists if these criteria:
- Serve a legitimate purpose. This means that there is a job-related reason for selecting on the basis of relevant criteria during recruitment and selection;
- Result in the achievement of the objective (suitability); • Be reasonably proportionate to the objective (proportionality);
- Necessary because there is no other, less intrusive way to achieve the objective (necessity).
An example of objective justification could be making distinctions to protect the safety and health of persons with disabilities. For this reason, wheelchair users could, for example, be exempted from a job if the workplace is unsafe for them.
What we expect from you
Your role at JEX combating discrimination includes:
- Be alert to requests from clients that are discriminatory in nature. You recognize such requests and do not cooperate with them.
- Consult with your manager in the event of a potentially discriminatory request and how to handle it;
- Identify instances of discrimination within JEX report them to your supervisor or the confidential advisor.
What you can expect from us
Our role in combating discrimination consists of:
- Creating a safe working environment where we treat each other with respect, there is room for constructive consultation, and undesirable behavior in any form is prevented and addressed;
- To establish, evaluate, and update this anti-discrimination policy and keep you informed about it, including through the Employee Handbook and jex
- Helping you recognize discrimination and discriminatory requests, including through the SEU training course for intermediaries and the NBBU Guide to objective recruitment and selection.
